Murray Wells takes on hearing aid providers Internet entrepreneur Jamie Murray Wells is now competing with Specsavers Boots and Scrivens for a share in the hearing aid market after this month's launch of HearingDirect.com.
Murray Wells said that his company aims to revolutionise the hearing aid industry by offering the public quick and easy hearing checks online and providing hearing aids for as little as 10 per cent of their cost on the high street.

Estimating the UK's annual spend on hearing aids at more than ВЈ210m, Murray Wells told Optician: 'The hearing aid market shares a lot of similarities to where the optics market was five to six years ago.
I felt a lot of customers were being short changed for their hearing aids.' The new site is aimed at the eight to 10 million people with mild to moderate hearing loss in the UK 'who don't need the Ferrari service that a lot of hearing aid providers offer'.

Webber sets rapid pace at Barcelona By Jonathan Noble Thursday, February 25th 2010, 12:13 GMT Mark Webber fired a warning to Red Bull Racing's rivals about the true potential of the RB6 when he delivered a blistering series of quick laps on the first morning of the final pre-season test at Barcelona on Thursday.
With Red Bull Racing having run alone at the track on Wednesday for filming purposes, Webber spent Thursday morning concentrating on qualifying simulations. Never completing more than three flying laps at a time, Webber steadily improved over the course of the morning to set his best lap of 1m21.487s shortly before 12.30pm. To put his performance into perspective, he set eight laps quicker than anyone else managed - and his best time was a whopping 1.027 seconds faster than Nico Rosberg in the Mercedes GP. It's amazing how you can be jailed out here for drinking or for being in debt, but when kitting out your car it's pretty much compulsory to commit crimes against taste that would shock Timmy Mallett. Enlarge I can only compare the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder to the old Gallardo, and it's definitely better. The low front spoiler, under the enlarged air intakes, has a sharper jut to improve stability at high speeds As you know, it's not the first time I've filed a column from Dubai, but it's my first since their financial wobble - if you can call going bust and being bailed out by the blokes next door a 'wobble'.
